Privacy Policy

First Day Editions is a brand of First Day Studio LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Last updated: 15 October 2026

The short version

We collect what we need to take your order, print it, post it to you, and — if you asked for it — email you. We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. You can ask us what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, and unsubscribe at any time.

What we collect, and where it comes from

From you, when you order:

  • your name, email address, delivery address and phone number if you give one;
  • the personalisation you ask us to print — a surname, a date, a name;
  • your order history with us.

From you, when you give us your email address before buying, through a form on this site:

  • your email address, and your first name if the form asks for it.

From your payment:

  • Stripe processes your card and tells us that the payment succeeded, the last four digits and the card brand. We never receive or store your full card number.

Automatically, when you visit:

  • your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you look at, and how you reached us.

Why we use it

  • To take, print, pack and post your order, and to tell you where it is.
  • To answer you when you write to us.
  • To send you marketing email, if you asked for it. You can stop this at any time.
  • To keep the site working, to measure how it is used, and to prevent fraud.
  • To keep the records that tax and accounting rules require us to keep.

Who else sees it

We use other companies to run parts of this business. They see only what they need, and they may not use it for anything else.

  • Our print and fulfilment partner in the United States — receives your name, delivery address and the personalisation, so that your edition can be printed and posted.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • Klaviyo — email.
  • Our hosting provider.

We also disclose information where the law requires it, and we would transfer it to a buyer if the business were ever sold.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

Cookies and measurement

This site uses cookies that are needed to make it work — a cart, a session, a login — and cookies that measure how the site is used.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The site will still work, but some parts of it may not.

Marketing email, and how to stop it

If you gave us your email address, we may send you marketing messages.

  • Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and it works. Unsubscribing takes effect within ten business days at the latest, and in practice immediately.
  • You can also write to support@firstdayeditions.com and ask us to stop.
  • We will still email you about an order you placed. Those are not marketing messages and you cannot unsubscribe from them while your order is open.
  • Every commercial email we send carries our postal address, as United States law requires.

If you are in Canada: we only send you marketing email where you have given us consent, we identify ourselves in every message, and every message carries a working unsubscribe mechanism and our postal address.

What you can ask us to do

Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you;
  • give you a copy of it;
  • correct it if it is wrong;
  • delete it;
  • stop sending you marketing.

Write to support@firstdayeditions.com. We answer within two business days and we will not charge you or treat you worse for asking.

Some of this we cannot do while an order is open or where the law requires us to keep a record — for example, we must keep sales records for tax. We will tell you if that is the case.

If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another state with its own privacy law, you may have these rights by statute rather than by our choice, and you may also have the right to appeal if we refuse. Write to the same address and say so.

We do not currently run any third-party analytics on this site. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising pixel and no session recording. If that changes we will say so here before we turn it on.

How long we keep it

  • Order records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
  • Marketing contacts: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
  • Site measurement data: two business days.

Children

This site is not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Where your information is held

We are a United States company and our suppliers are mostly in the United States. If you order from outside the United States, your information will be processed there.

Security

We use the usual protections: encrypted connections, access limited to those who need it, and payment handled by Stripe so that card numbers never reach us. No system is perfect, and we do not promise that one is.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell the people on our list.
