About this edition
What it is made of
Eight sheets, A4, printed on heavy uncoated cream stock, inside a navy hard cover folder. Nothing is folded, stapled or bound: each sheet stands on its own, so a single plate can be framed without taking the set apart.
How the research is done
Every figure and every date on the sheets comes from a public record or from published scholarship, and the last sheet names all of them. Where the record is silent we print that it is silent. We do not fill a gap with a plausible guess, and we do not illustrate a named real person with a face we invented.
Shipping and delivery
Printed and posted within 30 days of your order, with free shipping across the United States and Canada. If anything is going to take longer than that, we write to you before the thirty days are up and you can cancel for a full refund.
Our guarantee
Made to order, and guaranteed. Each edition is printed with your detail, so we can't take it back if you change your mind. But if it arrives damaged, misprinted or wrong, send us a photo within 30 days and we'll replace it free — no need to post anything back.
Questions
Is this different from the birthday edition?
The sheets are built the same way, from the same archives, around a different day. If you are ordering for an anniversary, this is the one.
Is this a digital download?
No. Everything we make is printed and posted. There is no file to download and nothing to print yourself.
Can I see it before it is printed?
Not at the moment. Each edition is researched and set after the order comes in, and we print it once. If anything arrives wrong, the guarantee above covers a free replacement.
Is there a subscription?
No. You pay once for the edition you order and that is the end of it.
Can I order one as a gift?
That is what most of them are for. The folder is made to be handed over as it arrives — there is no invoice or pricing inside it. Enter the recipient’s details rather than your own.
